Uniforms

The students of Loxton High School wear their uniform with pride. The school has a clearly formulated School Uniform Policy to which students are expected to adhere. This policy is supported both by Governing Council and parents. The following are the approved items of school uniform.

Shorts or skirts, PE/House polo tops and shorts (highly recommended) and gym

(Terms 1 & 4) Maroon bucket style school hat - Compulsory for all students when outside.

NAILPOLISH

If polish is to be worn, it must be colourless

MAKEUP

Foundation and clear lipstick only may be worn (exception may be granted on medical grounds).

JEWELLERY

Earrings, if worn, will be unobtrusive studs or sleepers. Rings, necklaces and bracelets, if worn, need to be safe and unobtrusive. Facial  jewellery  is not permitted.

HEALTH & SAFETY

No rings, bracelets or necklaces, are to be worn in practical lessons; that is, Technology Studies, Home Economics, Science, Physical Education or Agricultural Studies.

 

To assist parents who may be purchasing uniform during the holidays, we wish to advise the following shoes are the only acceptable shoes to be worn by male and female students :


FOOTWEAR OPTIONS

Summer (worn with short skirt, dress, or shorts)

  • Black leather lace-up shoes
  • Brown leather sandals with supportive heel strap/cup
  • Black leather Mary-Jane style shoe with substantial toe coverage, plus a broad adjustable strap that sits high on the instep

Winter (worn with long grey skirt or pants)

  • Black leather lace-up shoes
  • Black leather Mary-Jane style shoe with substantial toe coverage, plus a broad adjustable strap that sits high on the instep

All Formal Occasions – Summer and Winter (long grey skirt)

  • Black leather lace-up shoes only
  • Black leather Mary-Jane style shoe with substantial toe coverage, plus a broad adjustable strap that sits high on the instep

Criteria for shoe styles:

  • A broad based heel for stability
  • A solid shank i.e. sole bends at the ball of the foot NOT through the arch area
  • A heel counter
  • Able to accommodate orthotic inserts
  • Vans, whether leather or not, and with laces, are not acceptable.
  • Boots – Doc Martin style boots are not acceptable.
